Welcome to Reception's page
The majority of children move from nursery into the two reception classes, who have their own classrooms and a large attractive shared area. All the children use a newly refurbished outdoor classroom.

Attendance
It is important that all children attend every day, unless they are unwell. Poor attendance has a detrimental effect on children’s education, particularly at this early stage in their development. Parents should ring school if their child will not be attending that day.

The Foundation Stage curriculum
The children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum as laid down nationally. This is the curriculum for nursery and reception class children and it is organised into 6 areas of learning.
- Personal, Social and Emotional development
- Communication, Language and Literacy
- Problem solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
- Knowledge and Understanding of the World
- Physical Development
- Creative Development
The Foundation Stage is about developing key learning skills, such ads listening, speaking, concentrating, persistence and leering to work together with other children.
The staff provide activities and experiences that will enhance and extend the leering within the 6 areas. This is achieved through thorough planning, organisation and by focusing on the value of learning through exploration and investigation.
