Welcome to Class 4Bi

Year 4 have prepared this page to help you find out more about what goes on in our classroom. If you have any questions, please look at our FAQ section at the bottom of this page.

Classroom

We spend most of our time in room 10 with our teacher Mr Bird. To help us with our work we have Mrs Coates and Mrs Hussain. We are put into groups for literacy so that our teacher can help us make better progress. In Numeracy we are in 2 sets. Mr Bird takes set 1 and Miss Rashid takes set 2. In our topic work we work in mixed ability groups.

Work

 In Year 4 we study 3 main topics. In the autumn term we study the Vikings, in the spring term we study the Tudors and in the summer term we study the environment. In Literacy we concentrate on developing our descriptive language and our use of connectives. In Numeracy we develop our calculation skills and apply these skills to solve word problems.

FAQ

Q: When will my child need their PE kit ?

A: On Mondays and Wednesdays. Boys need their PE kit on a Monday and their swimming kit on a Wednesday. Girls need their swimming kit on a Monday and their PE kit on a Wednesday

Q: When will my child get homework?

A: On Mondays. The children will get Literacy and Numeracy homework to hand in the following Friday. They will also get spelling homework on a Thursday from Mrs Patel. Your child should also bring home their reading book and reading log. They should try to read for 10-15 mins a day to someone in the family.
