Artist in Residence 

We were fortunate in Year 3 to have a visit from a professional artist . Samantha Bryan a mixed media artist based in West Yorkshire came in and worked with each of the year 3 classes. She was helping the children to create their own imaginative 3D characters which the children will use to enhance their story writing next term.  To visit Samantha's website click here.

 We began by creating a mindmap of ideas for our character then produced a sketch in our sketch books.

Then Samantha showed us some of the techniques she uses in her model making.

Next we had to choose the materials we wanted to use... there were lots to choose from!

Finally... we began making our charcters!

At the end of the session we shared what we done with the rest of our class and talked about the different materials and techniques we had used.

We only really had time to get the heads of our charcters done but Mrs Walls will work with us in Art for the rest of term to complete them and will add more photos when they are finished!
